 Madeira School, McClean, VA

Madeira School, McClean, VA

Madeira School is both a day and boarding school for high school age girls located since 1936 on the 376-acre campus in McLean, Virginia. ESTECH provides Madeira School with expansive electronic security and monitoring, including fire and intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV/video and more. Because of the age and unique challenges of the facility, such as bridging between buildings and providing remote voice gate control a number of innovative solutions have been provided through the use of wireless, biometric and video technologies.  In addition, because of the unique relationships both ESTECH and Madeira have with law enforcement, the school is sometimes used as a training ground for various teams and in some cases our engineers and technicians.

ESTECH has been proud to serve as the primary electronic security systems contractor for USPG, LLC, since 2004.  This facility, adjacent to Union Station next to the U.S. Capitol in the center of Washington, D.C., has more than 2,100 parking spaces on multiple decks plus an entire bus terminal deck and an entire rental-car deck.  The massive system is comprised of weatherproof biometric security for access control, multiple alarm systems including panic/duress and drop safes, emergency call boxes and various kinds of CCTV/security video. The facility and surrounding areas are a bustling crossover for multiple police jurisdictions including U.S Capitol, MPDC and Amtrak Police among other departments.  ESTECH has helped provide critical security for a variety of incidents including carjackings, armed robberies and vandalism.

For over 15 years ESTECH has provided specialized services in the areas of CCTV/security video and intrusion detection for the State Police EPU.  We have proudly served under five consecutive governors.  During Queen Elizabeth II’s 2007 visit, ESTECH added 11 new cameras under a hard deadline to enhance an already impressive security video matrix.  We have since upgraded and integrated the system to provide real-time camera control between multiple buildings.  Additionally, our intrusion detection (alarm) expertise has been a critical part of our role with EPU since the earliest phases of the 1999 renovation of the historic Governor’s Mansion.
